Default Furuno fcv-620 not reading in deep water.

Hello everyone,
I have a furuno fcv-620 with a thru-hull airmar transducer. It reads fine in water up to 300 ish feet planed off or not. After that the depth will begin reading some small number like 4.2 feet and no readings on fish. 3000 feet is about as deep as I fish and need it to work! Is there a way to manually set the depth to only read to 200-300 feet? Does anyone have any knowledge on this model or have had similar problems?
Thanks for the help,
Docs Holiday

You can set the depth manually on the FCV620 by going to range on the front of the unit..
