Default LSS1 SS goes w/ real fast scroll speed

My LSS1 Structure Scan boots up great, and works awesome at the dock. After I make a run, the scroll speed increases, and the picture becomes very fuzzy - even at anchor. I try to re-start it, but I get the same thing. Is this a setting issue? I could see it operating like this while underway, but I don't understand why it happens at anchor.
thanks,

Bonefish - saw your post on the other thread about your SS issues - let's see if we can get you sorted out.

At anchor it will be "fuzzy" as you are scanning the same thing over and over and over. Should work at speeds of 2-8 mph or so very well.

Can you post some pics of your xducer install and screen shot pics of when it is working well and "not working"?

I don't understand the "scroll speed increased" - a video clip might help . Maybe you could post your SS settings from the set when you press menu but also when you press "menu-menu" and scroll down to the SS settings.

Default DownScan blurred

One issue that gives a blurred DownScan image is the auto range. This link has my explanation and solution and may help you. http://www.hightechfishing.com/articles/Auto_Range.html

Doc is a great resource on the Lowrance gear - if you've not checked them out, you should check out his DVD series - good stuff. I came across the tid-bit above about auto-range on another site he frequents and it helped a guy out there and have been mentioning it elsewhere as it does seem to be a common issue.....

Hi, thanks for the offer, my issue is just no source error messages. Lowrance sent me a new ethernet cable which didn't help, I sent the box in and they returned it with a note saying it had no issues, A day later they unexpectedly sent me another ethernet cable which I have not tried. I have had no response to a follow up e-mail or the satisfaction survey they sent me to fill out. Now the head unit HDS 8 Gen 2 is getting more glitchy. Screen dims, A reading of 2ft of water when I know I am in 10ft. Not happy with Lowrance so far.

sounds like a questionable head-unit. Don't wait for e-mail - call Lowrance - their wait-times on the phone are very short these days.... best to talk to someone live than wait on an email queue.
