Default ICOM M72 hand held radio

Just picked one up. Turned it on, and it seems like a very nice unit. Anyone have any experience with this unit? Just looking for reviews: good/ bad.

Thanks,

I've used mine for a couple of years and it's worked as intended. Battery life has been really good, and it feels like a nice solid unit. Only reason I'm selling mine here is because the boat I crew on is up for sale.

Just realize it's not going to give you the range of a good fixed-mount VHF. I would always have a fixed mount as my primary and the handheld as a backup in the ditch kit.

Ditch bag is exactly where it's going, as a back up to the flush mount on the dash.
