Default Adapter for Transducer

I have 2 garmin units on the boat, a 4212 and a 546s. The 4212 was connected to a gsd22 and 600w ducer. The 546s is connected to a transome ducer. I changed the gsd22 to the 24 and added the 1kw ducer for the 4212. That leaves me with a transom ducer, a 600w and a 1kw. I would like to use the 600w with the 546s but the ends are different. The 546 has a data/power cable. Is there an adapter I can use to connect the 600w to the 546. That will leave me with a transom mount ducer connected to nothing, which is OK. I would rather have it there than deal with plugging the screw holes and gel coat. Thanks

Look very carefully at the "546s"

The 500 series comes in two versions, a chartplotter only version and a chartplotter+sounder version, which is denoted by the "s"

If it says "GPSMap 546", it is not a sounder and will not work with that transducer, if it says "GPSMap 546s", it is a sounder and you have the wrong power/data cable for it.

That 6 pin transducer plug you're looking for is part of the power/data cable on the 546s. The part number is 010-10918-00

If you have a 546s and that cable, the transducer will plug right in. If you just have a 546, you're SOL on getting it to work as a sounder. You should also know that you won't be able to run the 600w 546 and the 1kw GSD24 simultaneously unless you have one on 50 khz and one on 200 khz - not sure what your end goal is here but that is something you should know.

Good luck with it and happy 4th

Thanks for the reply and hope you had a great 4th as well. It is the 546s which has the double cable going into the back of the unit. Currently the unit uses the transome transducer. What happened is I was running out of time installing the gsd24 and the new 1kw so I called a local shop. My instructions were to remove the 600w unit and replace it with the 1kw. When I got back down to the boat, they installed the 1kw on the other side stating that the unit was too large and would lay on the bunks when dry stored. So now I have 3 transducers, transome, 600w, and 1kw. So I figured I would use the better transducer instead of the transom mounted unit. That is the readers digest version of what is going on. When I bought the boat in February it came with the 2 units, 4212 and the 546s as a backup. The plug for the 600w is a 6 pin I beleive- much smaller in diameter than the transom mounted plug because of having both cables, data and power. thanks for the help.
