Default LMF-400 vs iCommander? are they the same?

I have been looking at the LMF-400 for a few days but just found the iCommander (evenrude) to appear to be the same.

can anyone confirm? if so, are these units "junk"? I see dozens and dozens of failed iCommander units but dont read much about failed LMF-400's.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Basically the same, different software loaded on them. The i-command version will show additional engine info for a late-model evinrude if present. I have a pair on my boat and they are awesome

I also have a few for sale cheap if you are interested

You probably mean the Evinrude I-Command gauges. There is no Evinrude gauge called an I-Commander.

It is widely known that the Evinrude I-Command gauges are made by Lowrance. There is a difference in the firmware loaded on the gauges. The Evinrude I-Command gauges can receive error messages from the E-TEC engine; the Lowrance LMF series gauges do not understand these error messages and do not display them.

I have an LMF 400 in my 233 formula and love it! The fuel flow sensors don't work to well at idle but seem to work fine when running...

I have working used units on ebay also:

Did it not show up in your search? Wondering if I need to change the listing to make them more visible.
