Default What to replace my furuno 1650 with?

I would like to get a new graph to replace my furuno with. I've been looking at the lowrance hds unit but that is a big chunk of change for me! Is there anything comparable that won't break the bank? Thanks

I went from a 1650 to a Garmin 740s and never looked back, much faster, easier, and better graphics. We love it

The Garmin 740 & 720 series from the low $1100..to just over $1200.

Here are a few in our Trading dock..and there are a few used ones that are bargains if you search the net etc.

I got the Gen2 from BOE Marine at boat show sales price of $935.
I figure if I'm going to upgrade to a system that I'll probably use for the next 10 years, I want the newest one available.

That's a great price! Are you going to get the sidescan? Also does the hds unit have radar? I've just started looking and I'm not real familiar with electronics. I like the looks of the hds models. When you get it installed let me know what you think. Thanks

May consider sidescan one day. Radar probably never. I'm hoping the Sirius weather will comfort me when heading offshore.
