Default Noob looking for his first GPS/Fishfinder

I just bought a boat that had a Lowrance LMS-350A. I tried it out on the sea trial and the screen lit up but there was no data. I pressed all the buttons and nothing changed. Judging from what I've read on this site, it is an older unit and there is no way to fix it. I am looking to replace it but not looking to empty the bank. I don't know anything about these type of units and not sure what I will require out of a new unit. Can anyone give me some advise on what to look for?

Thanks

Check the connections to the transducer to make sure you are getting a good signal there.
Make sure all the connections are free of corrosion etc.

It's great set up for the money. I'm putting it on ebay tomorrow morning. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Luck!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why Semper Fi is worth his wait in gold. Unbiased, no hard sell info you can take to the bank.
