b-164 with bottom paint on it?

Default b-164 with bottom paint on it?

this may be a dumb question, but if i get the answer once ill never need to look dumb agian! checked out my new boat on the rack and noticed that my ducer is painted over with bottom paint by my dealership (where i bought the boat and had all electronics installed), never saw bottom until now (it was in water all summer /fall) is this an issue or do i need to figure a way to remove it before it is repainted by my marina? thanks and be kind!

Are you sure it is not painted with transducer anti fouling paint?

A good installer would possibly use the correct anti fouling paint...made for transducers...give the dealership a call to confirm.

umm...., how can i tell? it seems it works fine but i dont have another ducer to verify it?

Hey Doc, better get that checked out. No Gil is right my guess would be that you have transducer bottom paint on it. Myself I don't paint the face of the transducer regardless and it's never been an issue. Whatever you do I wouldn't remove it unless absolutely needed. I'm sure Gil can say more but I know the face of transducer's are not something you want to mess with.
