Default Suzuki DF 300 and Garmin

I am talking to a dealer about repowering with a DF300 and I want to make sure I get everything that I need to connect to a Garmin network. I currently have a 3210 which I don't think will show the engine data. I am considering adding a second unit or replacing the 3210 with a 4210. I am somewhat confused with the network and the gauges. Help please.

You will need to set up a NMEA2000 network using the Suzuki engine management interface. The 3210 is not NMEA2000 compatible so you will either have to upgrade or add another display that will be. Brownspoint marine has a good deal of information on their website for what is required to start your network including cables, power, adapter harnesses, gauges, etc. For programming, you either need the Suzuki digital gauges made by Lowrance or the Lowrance gauges. Also, several Lowrance plotters are capable of programming. If you don't want to deal with programming, Brownspoint can program the interface for you so all you have to do is plug it in and go!

I have my DF250 setup and it works great. I did the installation myself and found that the programming was quite simple. I also added the EP-65R fluid level sensor and a Lowrance LMF-200 in place of my analog fuel gauge to compliment my Lowrance HDS system.
