Default Speakers for CC advice

Spring break starts this Friday for NCSU, this gives me a few days to get all the work done to the boat that is needed before the fishing season is in full swing.

I fish on a 23 Sailfish CC, the last pair of speakers that we had were box speakers mounted to the overhead t-top box with coated metal brackets, after several years the brackets failed. I am now looking for a cheap and durable replacement, that sounds good. The box speakers that were on the boat before held up to the weather and produced good quality sound. My gut tells me to just use what has worked in the past, but the flush mounted Poly-planar speakers from West Marine seem like a good deal that not only look better but also take up less space for a cheaper price compared to older ones .......... Will the poly-planar speaker produce as much quality sound, and can they take a beating??? (very important) ..................... What do you guys think is the better option between the two???
Also, if the speaker is magnetically shielded that means NO interference with my compass right?.........(not too sure how all of that works yet)

First off enjoy your spring break! Now honestly cheap poly planars are not going to have quality sound or take a beating. Check out the Fusion speakers or Kenwood speakers for good quality low cost speakers. Personally I like the Fusions, we have been selling and installing a ton of them lately and I have not had any complaints! They look good and sound goos for a reasonable price! Click the links below to check out a couple options for you. We are having a THT special that ends tonight at midnight but it gets you an additional 20% off of your entire order so if you are ready to purchase you can save some coin. Just enter the code "THTDEAL" in the coupon code box at checkout to get your additional 20% off.

Speakers you can install anytime. Going on Spring Break with you bud's has a considerably smaller window of opportunity.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I disagree with the other comments. Poly Planars by far have the best sound for the price, and on my 22 pathfinder the MA7500's are the best choice for speakers. The stereo you use with the speakers is also a good indicator as to the sound you will receive. I am using an MRD80i which is $40 less than a fushion and has the best options for Smart phones and mp3 players. JL audio has really good sound, but does not have an affordable price tag. It doesn't look like MB Marine sells Poly Planar so he is partial to fushion.
