Default EP60R Backordered?

I ordered an EP60R fuel flow sensor for my HDS7 back in January. It was showing as backordered with an expected ship date in February. No big deal since i won't be able to install it until sometime in late March or April anyhow.

Keeping an eye on the vendor website, the availibility date has now slipped twice. First to late Feb, and most recently to late March.

I started looking around for another vendor and considering cancelling my original order, but now I'm finding that most other internet vendors are back ordered as well.

The ones I'm finding are showing prices considerably higher than the backordered sites.

Is Lowrance having an issue with these sensors?

I would say, yes! based on what I went through on their HDS line GEN1. I had one fuel flow sensor fail on me last summer. They r not cheap and I'm sure the mark up $$ is ridiculous.

We get them all the time. I show that i have shippped out 32 of them in the past 2 months. With Navico this time of year if you wait for them to get in stock you may be waiting for a long time. Most things are backordered with customer orders to fill. Best thing to do is to get your order in with your favorite retailer to get your place in line. Make sure the dealer you choose is actually a dealer. They should be listed on the manufacturers site.

Ordering from NAVICO is bad news. You will pay more and will be on backorder most times. I have tried before and have waited for weeks for the Yamaha interface cable. Canceled it and finally ordered from BOE. Shipped the next day and saved a few dollars.

I ordered from a big box type outdoor store (like Cabelas, but not them).
I'll admit I was shopping price since there was at least a $50 spread on the prices I found, low to high.....

I was thinking that Lowrance may have been having some kind of quality issue with the EP60 since I found some discussion threads about numerious/multiple failures of this sensor and then found it backordered on some sites. Now with the availability date slipping multiple times, I just thought there was a manufacturer issue.

I'm thinking about going to the boat show in the Philly area this weekend, maybe I'll check out the show vendors.

It's going to be at least a month before I bring the boat home to do the install, so I can wait it out for a bit.
If it comes down to it, I could take a run over to BOE when I go down to bring the boat up. BOE is just across the peninsula for where the boat is....
