Default Inmarsat Isatphone Reviews

Ive got a spot connect that works but after coming across the isatphone, I think I would rather have the phone for the same annual cost $100-150. Does anybody here have experience with this phone and service?

I will mainly be using the phone off Florida in both the gulf and the Atlantic.

Also, does the isatphone have an SOS feature? Similar to spot or plb?

Thanks in advance for any input.

John

I Have one, it works very well in the northeast. It takes a few minutes to hook up once its turned on, I have no trouble calling home from 80 0r 90 miles off. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I got one after fooling around with the Spot connect. The Isatphone pro is much better. We make one call or so a trip so don't use that many minutes. I pay $20 a month for 10 minutes but they role over. I should have a bunch of min by now.

I fish off Atlantic City NJ (right near Dentman actually) and I never have had an issue with the phone. Money well spent in my opinion. As for an SOS feature, it does not have that. I wouldnt let that be a deal breaker for you though.

You can get an SOS feature, LEO tracking feature and Man over board feature for the iSatPhone Pro, but you have to buy a very expensive docking station for it. But it charges the battery, always keeps it on and active antenna locked and gives you the above features, plus location polling, even remote location polling via SMS, but it is an expensive docking station for it.
