Default Marine Stereo Help

I've read all the recent threads on marine stereos hoping to get my question answered. I've even gone to sites and looked at all the stereos to no avail so here I go. I'm buying a new-to-me center console and have a space issue so I want to get a very small AM/FM marine radio with a mini plug input on the front so I can connect my iPhone, my son's generic mp3 player, etc. I don't want a cd player and I don't want a unit that is big like the ones that have cd players built in. I want the mini plug input on the front of the unit as I want to flush mount the unit into my CC. I don't want an iPod dock either. Bluetooth would work in lieu of the mini plug if they make such a unit. Lastly, i don't want to break the bank as I'm not a big music person and hardly ever use the stereo but it's nice to have once in a while I suppose. I don't care if the unit supports 2 speakers or 4 as I'm probably going to put two speakers on the boat and no more. Are there any small units out there that fit my request? Thanks for your help

Well I cant think of any of the small radios that have an input on the front of them but what about adding just an input next to the radio. Check out the pics below. You could simply wire the input plug to the auxilary input on the radio.

So that you are not so limited on your install space/size, you may want to consider a wired remote like this here

Amazon Amazon

There are many others from different companies, sizes prices etc.. You can also add a flush mount USB next to it like this -

Amazon Amazon

I have my unit in a sealed electronics box, but it's a pain to open and reach and adjust all the time. The wired remote puts about every function possible right at your finger tips on the dash where ever you want it insalled. I can play hundreds of songs, and modify any way I want without ever have to touch or see the stereo unit via Ipod/MP3 etc. Almost all wired remotes are completely water-proof, many stereo head units are not as far as dash mounts go.

Please see my post here (8th post down):

Clarion M109 & Pioneer TS-MR1640. Soild set up. The Clarion M109 does have a CD player (which you do not want) & the 3.5 mini-jack in the front. PS...Usually when you want BT the price (footprint size) gets more expensive.

This looks good! One question, do you stock the Fusion MS-RA50? I went to the Fusion web site to look at dimensions and saw this lesser cost radio. It looks like it accepts an aux input like the other one so it would do the job.

We will when they come out. They do not actually exist yet. I forgot to mention that you can enter the code "thtdeal" in the coupon box in the shopping cart on our site for an additional 20% off your entire order. Thanks

I bought a Clarion M309. Front panel aux input jack, plus lots of other options. I wasn't looking for a CD player, either, but wound up buying this unit for it's versatility. about $180 on amazon and lots of other places. You can even put it in the cabin add the wired remote control and remote aux input jack at the helm. That's how mine is installed.
