Default Garmin 7000 series vs 5000 series

Other than a faster redraw speed, is there any other reason the 7000 is so much more expensive? Am I correct that the radar, weather, and sonar displays will be exactly the same on both if you use the same black box?

Also, the video is full screen, where it is not on the 4000/5000 series. Also, this will fully support the FLIR systems and not sure if the 4/5 series will.

Speed, full screen Video upscalling... as already noted. also better backlighting at night (aka DARKER).

One other thing to consider, the 4000/5000 software is probably done, or close to being done. Meaning I doubt there will be many more updates advances in the software. I could be wrong, Garmin is pretty good about that.

But since the 6000/7000 series is fairly new, there will likley be software updates/advancements done with it.

I just upgraded from the 5215 to the 7215 to get the added speed, and full screen video. Would I use another 5215 if I bouht another boat with it installed? Yes. Would I buy aother 5215 if money was tight? Yes. However, if I had the extra cash, I'd go with the 7215.
