Default Anyone seen this speaker LED setup?

Saw this online the other day and thought I would share. Its the first time I have seen it installed this way. Seen many speaker rings but not this! Has anyone else used/installed this setup?

Looked around to see what I could find on how it was done and this is the best example I could find. Just trying to figure out how they get the wires behind the speaker

I like how the light is facing the speaker, so it's more of a reflecting glow than facing out. Not sure why there are so many wires... seems like they could run just one wire and daisy chain it to all LEDS? What site did you see them on?

That is actually pretty clever.

I bought a set of those lexan rings and I really wasn't crazy about them. Nothing WRONG with them just didn't like the effect as much as I expected. With the brightness of a 5050 strip I was even thinking about backlighting a speaker, just stringing the strip up along the inside of the basket, see if I could get the speaker to 'glow.'

Yea, I am not too crazy about the rings on the outside of the speaker because they seem to over power the look of the speaker.

Is there a demand for the plexi rings? We have been toying with the idea of manufacturing them. We would make the pricing a little better of course and make them speaker specific. I think the rings would be better with a frosted outside edge rather than the polished edge you find on the rings now. A frosted edge would glow rather than emit light like a polished edge. To answer the OPs question of how to get the wires through the speaker you would just drill a hole in the basket of the speaker and run the wire through there, not recomended for most to try on their own.

Maybe to individual turn them on/off for rotating or other effects?
