Default DSC Connection #2

This is referencing my earlier thread on connecting my E90W to my ICom 602 for DSC purposes. I have the wiring coming from the E90W straight just need to figure out how to connect them to the VHS. The pic below shows my VHF connection. I can't find a connector or cable that I could use to connect the wires. Someone mentioned soldering the E90W wires directly to the pins in the connector but it is a pretty small area to get in to solder. Someone also mentioned butt connectors but not sure how I would get them crimped on the pins. Seems the best solution is a connector or cable. Anyone know where I can find one? Can't locate by search or on ICom website.

Thanks in advance.

The radio should have come with two connectors, a 6-pin and a 3-pin. You must install the cable yourself. You will probably have to get the connector from Icom. Here are some pic's of one that I installed. In lew of a proper connector, you could just use female pins that crimp/solder directly to wires. Place heat shrink over each pin leaving just the open end of the pins uncovered. Manually insert pins over male pins in the receptacle. The spring tension of the female pins is solid enough as long as you secure the wires/cable near the radio so there is no direct tension on the wires. I would not advise trying to solder wires directly to the male pins in the receptacle.

If the radio didn't come with the cable and parts call ICOM Service they will hook you up.
