Glen E is right.....

IMO Fusion speakers are the best "Value" priced speakers on the market. They have a 3 year warranty which is rare in marine stereo equipment, and they sound good to most who are looking for some basic sound.

We have been installing them the last 2-3 years, for the customers who are on a budget. I don't recall having to send any back under warranty.

This is a pretty nice little system with a pair of speakers. And with our 20% off deal for THT members it comes in just under $200

Mgonzo700: As people mentioned here....$150.00 will get you a semi-junk stereo set up. If you know what you're looking for...A little more money can get you something soild. Please DO NOT go to West Marine & purchase their crap. Fusion may be a tad too rich for your blood, but then again maybe not.

Clarion makes a soild HU (M109 @ $104.99) for short coin here:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...rion-M109.html

You can hook into your MP3 or I-POD thru a 3.5 (1/8) mini-jack cable.

Here is a link to the BEST cable website there is (Monoprice) 3.5 @ 3'

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

You can buy the overpriced Monster 7' here as well:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...N-MINI-2M.html

Speakers? I assume you're doing a 2-channel set-up (2 speakers) Here are some very soild choices here:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...rine-612M.html

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-MR1640.html

If you really want some very, very good speakers , then check out these JL Audio Marine speakers here:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...c-Grilles.html

Ok...Here is your breakdown:

Clarion M109 Head Unit w/

Infinity 612M's total $204.94 w/ no tax & free shipping.

Pioneer TS-MR1640's total $169.98 w/ no tax & free shipping.

JL Audio MX650's total $264.94 w/ no tax & free shipping.

I know the JL's will sound the best, Pioneer makes a great speaker & it's the best value of them all. If you budget is that tight, then look @ the Clarion/Pioneer set up. If you can afford the JL set-up, then do it!

Good Luck!

You should consider the MB Marine Electronics buy. Not a bad set-up for the coin IMHO. He works these boards pretty well & although I have never purchased from him, many people have & like him. I would think he will stand behind your purchase.

Thanks for the kind words. We are trying to earn the trust of the board one person at a time. Thanks

Wow...Thanks alot
I am going with the head unit that you mentioned and the pioneer speakers. I would go with "MB marines" the thing is that I need the Head unit to be that standard size..I am using the original slot in the console.

Thanks again

Not a problem. Didn't mean to sway the original poster, just that (if I have the time) I'll recommed what I think is soild for the budjet. You have some soild lines....Wetsounds, Kenwwod. Fusion & Alpine to name a few. The website does look to be a little better to navigate as well.

Good Luck!

personally I find you jumping on every thread trying to sell stuff a bit low class. Others that are vendors here don't do that. A much better way is post pics of your installs and show your expertise. Then people can go to your forum here and you can sell them from there.

PM'ing and selling from the main board is shoddy business practice, IMO.

I love your installs - put more of them here....

Another West marine bash. I love it. West marine sells most of the stuff MB is pushing and will price match him all day long. They also sell a extended warranty plan that is replacement at the store even if you don't like the way it performs. I have used the plan to upgrade my system. I have clarion system with JL amps and fusion speakers. All you do is pay the difference and renew the plan.

I did & you can have them! They sell almost everything @ RETAIL! Maybe you're retired & have the time to have them price match everything & shoot the breeze. What about tax? In MA. were are @ 6.25% That can add-up if you're buying electronics. Unless you live in Delaware or New Hampshire.

Why do the legwork & research yourself & find a good online dealer like MB Electronics, BOE or Hodges Marine & get a soild deal up front? Most time you'll get free shipping or maybe pay $10.00. I don't need to be on a "plan" to get the best prices available. That's just another brick & motor gimmick to have you pay more yet again. West Marine is there for one reason & that's when I'm in a pinch & need something right away.
