Default Furuno – 1715

I am thinking of buying a furuno 1715. Any experience, or comments about it?
Appreciate it.

I've had one for several years on a small boat used on the lower MS river. We have fog issues in winter and early spring. Works like a charm; easy to install, setup and use. I prefer a separate unit, rather than incorporate one with my Garmin 4212. For a basic unit to keep you out of trouble, it's great.

Thanks.
I have a Lowrance 1000 that died on me. It worked for two years, and then eventually stopped to work.
Lowrance products are inexpensive and luring but they break soon with absolute terrible customer service.
I have had another model Furuno before, free standing, and yes I will use the 1715 as a separate unit.

I've had a 1715 for approx 10yrs and it has been extremely reliable and trouble free.

I have a GP1700 display for sale if you'd like to build out a nice navnet system. $450 shipped. Brand New in the box. Only the display, bracket, power cord, manuals, sun cover. Let me know if you're interested.
