Default Garmin GSD 26 - 1 year out review from users

I can understand that there are plenty of GSD22 disappointed users out there and many people who told me to stay away from Garmin fish-finders.

I know that Garmin made a lot of improvements and a lot of effort was put to release the GSD 26 about 1 year ago.

I am seriously thinking about buying this unit so I am asking people who bought it or used it during the 1 year that it is out what they like/disliked about this unit specifically (not complaints about its predecessors).

I can see that the current price of the unit ranges between 1600-2000 USD which is significally less than Simrad BSM-2 which ranges between 1900-2500 USD and Raymarine CP450C (around 2000USD). What I can not find is many reviews from GSD 26 users.

I only was able to start start shipping the first Garmin GSD26 units to customers 5 December '11 and many went to new boat builds so they are not even on the water yet.
The ones that I did ship to end users that are now using them all have had glowing and totally positive results.

The time I personally have had on this unit (And the BSM-2) was simply mind boggling.
Regardless of who manufactures a CHIRP system..... Simrad,Garmin. Raymarine or Furuno......CHIRP is on a vastly different playing field.
It is the technology itself that sets the bar.

But it is going to take more time for people to get real world reports of this specific unit (GSD-26) as it is such a recent addition.
