Default Gas Gauge Responding Incorrectly

Boat is a Grady with dual main & aux gas tanks. The engines & gauges are Yamaha (2 strokes), 2000 models. Gas gauge is flashing low fuel for both tanks. Topped tanks off, still flashing low fuel. Was thinking it was the sender in the tanks but with both tanks flashing low fuel I think I may have a bad connection or gauge??? Any of you guys experienced this? Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.

All a sender does is variable resistance to ground. Ground the sender wire from the gauge, and it should go up to full. You may have a common grounding point for both senders that has gone bad.

Thanks debugger, I'll try that. seems that this is my year for wiring to go bad. I have had other wiring issues recently as well.

Test it first. Don't run out and buy a sendor when it could just be a bad ground.
