Default Garmin NMEA2000 and Yamaha command Link

I am installing a Garmin 740 S and have a Yamaha F250 with Command link gauges, (Tach, and Speed/Fuel). I intend to run a Mare-002 cable from the Garmin to the Command Link busbar to enable viewing of engine data on the Garmin. My question is whether the Yamaha Speed/ Fuel gauge will pick up the signal from that link to read speed and MPG or must the NMEA183 wires from the Garmin also be hooked to the NMEA183 wires coming from the Speed/Fuel gauge?

You do not need to connect the 0183. N2K will handle it. The MARE-002 is the right cable.
