Default Simrad vs Lawrence Sonichub

Is there any difference between the two? Can I hook up a Lawrence Sonichub to a Simrad NSS7?
Or do I have to go with the more expensive Simrad Sonichub.

As I understand it, Simrad allows video in. Simrad sonic hub has the software to enable you to play video from your ipod. You may need an adapter between simnet and NMEA2000?

Yes ..... a Lowrance SonicHub can be connected to a Simrad MFD. How do I know I have one connected to my Simrad NSS8. Started the install this afternoon made all the connections just to be sure it all works as advertised. It works as designed with all the functionalities the Simrad SonicHud retains.

Had to make some install room so I cut a piece of 3/4 inch starboard to make some additional space. Here are some pictures.

I'll finish up the install tomorrow.
