Default Help with Garmin 2010c??

I just bought a used Garmin 2010C. I'm looking for some good info on what accessories are available to install the system such as transducer, radar array/dome, adapters/wire harness, etc. Does anybody have any experience with this particular unit? Thanks.

You can check the Garmin website for compatible accessories. That unit is out of production and no longer repairable by Garmin so I wouldn't invest a lot in anything that's not also compatible with current models.

You can also download the manual if you didn't get one with yours.

I owned the smaller "sister" unit of the 2010c (2006c) It's was a 6.4" color screen & @ the time it was state-of-the-art! As I recall, I paid $2,000+ for the GPS, not including the antenna dome or the fish finder. Just use the 2010c as a GPS unit & keep it until it dies. As another poster mentioned....It's simply too old (& not compatible with anything Garmin makes now)

When I sold my Eastern 24' a month ago...The 2006c was still working like a charm. My hope is you purchased that unit for a song...otherwise, it's not a great investment.

Friend of mine gave me the one off of his boat, set up as GPS and bottom machine. I'm going to put it on my albemarle, has a nice big bright screen.

That unit does not support radar, and does not support any Garmin network devices. You will need a GSD20 or GSD21 black box sounder to use the unit as a sounder - that sounder technology is mediocre at best and they have a higher than average failure rate. Magnolia was dead on, buy a power/data cable, it uses the same one as the 3010/3210, buy a GPS-17N or GPS-17HVS NMEA 0183 antenna, and use it as a chartplotter. The basemaps on the 2010c are pretty useless for anything other than knowing where you are in relation to a continent - you will want to purchase a bluechart card (not the bluechart g2 or vision, just bluechart) and use it as a chartplotter - they are excellent chartplotters.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll get the GSD20 or GSD21 black box sounder. What about a compatable quality thru hull transducer?
