Default Are these estimates reasonable

I am getting proposals for redoing some of the electronics on my boat.

General proposal is for

1 Furuno NavNed 3d 12.1", 4 kw dome array, new Fusion Stereo (ip 600) + Amp and 2 new speakers

Using existing GPS Ant., Stand Alone sounder and auto pilot.

Estimates for equipment + Labor is $10,000. Does this seem reasonable or is high?

Well you can look up all the equipment online and come up with the equipment prices. The installer if he is a reputable one, should disclose his labor rate to you and should be able to tell you how many hours your job will take.

You should tell us what kind of amp and speakers were specified for this job. Hopefully someone likes GLEN E will chime in. He will be able to tell you if it a decent estimate or not. Make sure you also get some referrals.

The equipment is as follows:

Furuno MDF12
Furuno DRD4D
Furuno BBwx2
Fusion IP-600
Fusion Fm602 (pair)
Fusion Fm504
Shakespeare SRA40

Labor: $2,240.00 - Even at $100 per man hour, that would be 22 hours for the install, seem a bit much.

maybe a bit high but I would not quote anything without seeing the boat. I have seen some wiring runs take hours longer becasue behind a bulkhead or in a top, it is not what it seems to be....you can't ask this question without knowing the boat and condition....

if you think it's high, do it on "time and materials" quote and have him clock his hours...also is the installer an auth furuno dealer?

Glen thanks for the response. The installer is an authorized furuno dealer who has done work for me in the past. I never begrudge a business a fair and reasonable profit, so the fact that you don't see it as out of line give me comfort. Now I just have to wait till April to splash th boat...

you have a lot of wire runs here with the radar, antenna and speakers , that COULD raise the price...

Look at JL over Fusion for the speakers....
