Default Trolling motor batteries as backup starter batts

I have two trolling motor batteres wired in 2x12 series. If I get myself or make a set of short jumper-cables is there any reason I couldn't jump my starting battery by jumping to the first trolling battery posts in emergency?

No problem as long as you unhook the terminal to the second battery prior to doing it.
