Default Just got my Airmar TM-260 (Thanks Semper Fi)

Just got my new TM-260 and man, if size matters this things should blow the doors off my p-66 ! Gill was just awesome to deal with and I probably ate all his profit on this unit in cell minutes calling him with so many questions LOL ! He is a very patient man ! Anyway I will post some pix of the install next week and some screen shots runing @ both 50 and 200 mhz. Thanks again Gill for the great info you provided, the great price and product.

Just installed one on my Whaler connected to my Simrad NSS 8. The thing weighs 7 lbs so you sure don't want it getting underway! I replaced an Airmar P66.

I sure will ! The pix on here do not do it justice as to the sheer size and weight of this ducer, until you actually see it in person . We will be leaving for Fl. (where the boat is) on Sat. So I will post some pix next week sometime -

It might look like a small kicker motor on my boat!
Can't wait to see your pictures.
I have to make that call. See how I can keep my paddle, maybe by using a Y connection. I do a lot of slow trolling and the GPS(speed over land) is not accurate.

bluewaterpirate how do you like the nss8 paired with the tm260 was thinking of going with 2 nss8 or a furuno 585 and a nss8 for a plotter.

So what are the performance differences.
Is this a 1000 wt unit or 600 wt Or ?
And will it count the fish on the bottom .

Yes I realy like the NNS8 and TM260 combo. Good solid FF with easy to use functionalities and dislpays. It was easy to install. With that said you sure couldn't go wrong with the NSS8/585/TM260 combo.

Thanks for the response bluewaterpirate,i hear the 585 is a great unit and simrad is getting great reviews so now its big dicision time.the simrad is capable of chirp down the road if i,m not mistaken with the black box and new tranducer.the chirp system just to much cash right now.......

Semperfish so what your saying is i should hold off a bit and see what raymarine has for price on a e9 with the 585 /tm260.....what do you think ,go with proven 585/tm260 and a chart plotter or go with one of the new chirp units so in a later time i could add on.....

What I am saying is that you are going about this the right way.
Looking at all the systems...comparing everyones opinions to your fishing conditions etc.

If you just wait till the Miami show you may have more information to guide you.

The FCV585 is a great unit, reliable and proven.I love it.
But the new sonar that is in the Ray e & c series is equal as far as target detection capabilities.I am very impressed with it.
600 watts with the capability to add the DSM300 for 1000 watts.

If you can use a 9 or 12' MFD I would certainly wait just a bit to see what the new Rays are going to be like...get some hands on play time with them.

My sales on the new e7 are great and the feedback is nothing but positive...and I personally really like the sonar portion. And the ability to add CHIRP is a positive..just like with the Simrad units.

All in all, these next few months are going to be a buyers market.
