Default Garmin replacing my (2) 6 yr old 3210's with(2)4210's,

sent them in with scratched screens, they don't have any 3210's to send back so the are replacing them with the 4010's.

heres my questions,my current setup is (2) 3210's,radar,xm,gsd22, and tr1 auto pilot all networked together(i didn't do it,it was done in 06 when i purchased the boat)besides having to enlarge the mounting hole will these hook right into my current network,i know the power cables are different other than that what am i looking at?The system worked fine and the less stuff we disturb the better.

PS i downloaded Homeport and got all my waypoints transferred to it so i can put them on an SD card( i was smart enough to save all of them to a garmin chip).Looks like i will have to clean up some of my waypoints,i noticed the 4XXX series only has room for 1500;? .

Thanks

You will need to replace the power cables and also the nmea0183 cable - the 4210 unit which feeds your autopilot and DSC VHF radio on the unit they will be attached to; otherwise everything will just plug in.

that's a pretty sweet deal.. two 6 year old units for two current units. Awesome though that all your existing equipment will work.

You might want to upgrade the GSD22 sounder for a GSD 24 sounder. The 4210 will work with the old stuff, but you can really benefit from upgrading the sounder box.

how did you get them to swap out the 3210s for the 4210s?

My 3210's screen is getting tougher and tougher to see.

my screens are scratched,it cost 400.00 per unit to get the 4210's since they had no 3210's to swap with.

i have read all the bad stuff about the 22 but i honestly can say we have caught alot of fish with it(of course the 1kw transducer may have alot to do with that),i may upgrade later but for now i will leave it alone..got way to many fires to put out right now,not enough $$$..

Most people have scratched screens, yet Garmin won't do a swap---unless you had some kind of warranty? ;? This is the question.....

Thatz called Luck...if I did that they would tell me to go chop wood and they will send it back with a check minus their time spent on it.
