Default Advise on Lowrance SonicHub on smaller HDS units - comments/pics?

Hello there

does anyone have any pictures or comments on how the Sonichub looks/works with the HDS 5 or 7 units? I see lots of pics with the HDS-10 but wondering if its might be worth getting if I get a HDS 5 or 7 as the 8 is so much more $.

Thanks!

I installed it on my HDS5M. The zoom in and out buttons are the volume. enter mutes. The sound is good (I think).

If you order it, be sure to get the NMEA2000 Starter kit, if your boat does not have NMEA2000 already.

How do you like the display and controls with it off the 5? Is it fairly quick to scroll between songs and menus just like flipping between sonar/chart etc?

Definitely will need NMEA thanks for the tip.

The display is at the bottom of the screen. It is small but large enough to read. You hold the page key down for about 2 seconds to switch back and forth from the GPS control to the Sonichub control.

The Sonichub display is always visible along the bottom. I found that once I set the GPS Display, I switch the to control the sonic hub and leave it there. It is very easy to switch from AM,FM or I-pod or Sirius.
