Both GPS Babel and GPS visualizer along with other converters and utilities are available to run on-line regardless of platform.

Which Simrad unit do you have? Something unique about the new Simrad products is you can import from any format you want and they will convert them.

I saved my Garmin waypoints in a GPX file and imported into my NSE.

Default Gps babel

Transfer was easy with gpsbabel to sd card, how do you upload the waypoints to the nss12 once you transfer to the sdcard?

The HDS has a little magnetic door that you almost cant see on lower right side. Perhaps the NSS is similar. Just looked at a photo and it looks to have a similar door in about the same location. Pull door open, slide in the SD card like the slot on your PC.

One warning. I mentioned GPSBabel above. It works fine for converting TO Lowrance .usr format. But if you are running v4.0 on your Lowrance unit, the conversion back is not supported. Also doesn't work with GPSVisualizer. I'll try something different and see if I screwed something up.

One thing you can do is transfer to an intermediate format, like KML and then from kml into your native format. GPSbabelizer and GPS visulaizer can help you one way or another.
