Default Simrad NSE system with chirp and an open array radar are perfect for canyon fishing

Had a chance to fish on a Simrad NSE this past week end and it was everything and more! that I have been hearing about. I own a nav net 1 and fish and use friends 3 d and 2 and yes they work good and have great features. But I was using this NSE system and felt confident almost instantly in real world canyon fishing both trolling the canyon contours and deep dropping those same contours successfully. First time fishing on this boat and ended up at the wheel keeping the boat maneuvered across the best areas. while the owner of the boat managed the inexperienced anglers and the electric deep drop reel. Also we got tuna on the troll and between the open array radar making me question why we only saw a half doz boats in an area but had many many dozens of targets on the screen in that same area miles away???spotting everything so good on the rough ocean including pot markers without radar reflectors and birds. Yes Navnet will do the same thing. But not as easy for an electronically handicapped person like myself. If only I had the money now to switch over myself.

Sounds good.
How deep were you fishing?
Do you know which transducer they are using?
Any screen shots?

Only kidding. We were fish in from 410 ft to 600ft+++ within a 1/4 of a mile on each maneuvered drift. the ducer is flush mounted into the keel of the boat and one of those chirp ducers. he also had a sidescan ducer under the boat we did not use that day. Two NSE 12 and an NSE8 on a 39 center console sea vee. both a large 43 lb golden Tile among many others was our biggest and some real sweet tasting blue line tile fish. What a trip saver when the tuna and bait are so thick out there but the tuna will bite nothing.
