Radar Installation Question
I am installing a Radar Dome on a soft top (Sunbrella) t-top. The bracket was made and drilled when the T-top was installed. Question is how to run the cable from the dome to the display. How has anyone else done this? through the fabric or from the dome to the edge of the top and then into the electronics box?

Do you have any PICs? Generally, run from the radar through the fabric top to the electronics box. Seal the stitching of the new hole all around with a soldering iron to prevent fraying. Keep the run in a flexible tube or plastic pipe. There are a 1000 different setups. Boston Whaler, "MUMBLER", 24' Outrage, twin 175 HP Evinrude Ocean Pros. Snowball, the cat...

Radar Installation Question
I don't like to comment on things like this because there just is no one way to do it and you really have to decide how you want to go forward after looking at the specific case.

What I will say about it is that if I were going to put a hole in the top material to pass the cable through, and I might or might not do it that way, there is one thing I would do for sure. I would remove the fabric, after marking exactly where the cable needed to pass through, and then I'd take it to a top shop and at least have make the hole and reinforce it (at least something like a button hole is reinforced with heavy stiching). While I think that Mumbletone's suggestion with the hot iron would work, and certainly be a lot less expensive, in this case I'd probably go to an expert and have them deal with it.
