Default Thoughts on the Sitex GPS-90 MKII

I'm wanting to upgrade my GPS system and I'm considering the Sitex GPS-90 MKII. I like the Loran comversion feature although I'm sure accuracy will be question. Do any of you guys have a opinion or pro's and cons of the unit? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

I have this unit.. its great.. although when I set it on loran numbers and punch them in I have to punch in twice for it to be accurate.. dont know why.. but it only does that when its on loran numbers.. otherwords I save a number Im heading to on a waypoint number.. then I punch that waypoint in and the numbers are miles off,, then I punch same waypoint number in again.. and its accurate.. and it will take you within 200 foot or better using as loran numbers in unit.. using as gps with gps numbers it does not need to be punched in twice. probally it takes more time to calculate loran numbers.. and I have not waited long enough before I punch it in again.. if you wait it might settle in and change by itself.. dont know.. I will have to check it out next time offshore.. I recommend this unit.. the reason I bought it was because of the loran conversion.. I have tons of loran numbers and the units finds them..if you have any problems working unit give me a call .. I can walk you thru how to change gps to loran numbers, or anything else you might have a problem on..write to me anytime..

Thanks for the reply. I have a similar situation where I have literally a thousand or more Loran C numbers. Before Loran went off the air I would use both my GPS and a standalone Loran C to mark my spots. Needless to say I never made it to all the Loran spots including a couple deep water spots that always held really nice Snowy's and Scamps. I didn't know there was a unit that would do the conversion until now. If I need to I'll surely get in touch. Your help is greatly appreciated. Good fishing to ya!
