Default Furuno Transducer - Temporary

So I am in a pickle, I need a new fish finder right now, but do not want to haul the boat and complete repair being so close to winter. Only doing chunking for tuna, only need to know what depth the fish are at when they are under me and when they are there to do the heavy chunking.

I actually have a nice 1KW thruhull and fairing block to use.

So this is going to just be used for about three weeks, thinking about either using the 520IHD or the 525ST-PWD, transom mount. No need for temp as I have that on other machine right now.

Literally just looking to get through these three weeks, need to get the Furuno 585 anyways...

Last time I had a shoot thru the hull was back in 1996 and swear it didn't pick up fish, but didnt know anything about the transducer at the time, only fishing in 200' of water right now. If I do the transom mount will install on a 2x4 to just use while chunking and then maybe take some 55 gallon drums (water) to get one side of the boat out of the water enough to drill.

Anyone have real life experience with the shoot thru the hull 520IHD, I do not want to hear about the 527's.
