Default Garmin 24 HD problem

Outfitted the New 31 Cape Horn with all Garmin Gear (2) 6212 1kw thru hull, autopilot, gsb 22, and 24 HD

I am having a problem with my RADAR, if for any reason I hit a wave wrong, or slam into a head sea, the radar shuts down, I get a big circluar yelllow continious strip on my screen... then the screen goes blank, an error messgae comes up saying " lost radar connection" askign me to accept then the screen goes blank, after about 30 second or so "spinning up" appears and it turns on by itself, and works fine... untill then next big wave

any idea to what could be causing this? we have tried everything relpacing wires, reconnecting, new o-rings around connections? garmin has no idea either?

HELP....

First two guesses are an intermittent power connection to the array or a flaky network cable/connection.

Check power first, including ground line, then network cable.

I've been fussing with a "Lost RADAR Signal" error for months now. I can cause the "Lost Radar Connection" error to happen by pulling the network cable lose while it's running so that's the cable to focus on. A short in the power cable causes an error something like "Lost Device". In my case the unit keeps spinning and the connection is often reestablished after 30 seconds or so. I can not duplicate it on the trailer no matter how hard I tug and fuss with the cables. Local dealer/service center has been worthless to work with. I guess he doesn't make enough on warranty work to be worth the trouble.I give up. Finaly called and got an RMA from Garmin today. Sending the dome to Kansas myself. There is a service bullitin on this issue, but you have to call in with your serial number to find out if it's in the range or not. Mine was not.
By the way...... NICE BOAT !

I had the same problem with mine right out of the box. I sent it back to Garmin and they sent me a new one which has been flawless.
How old is your unit?

Pretty rig. Those Garmins finish it off nice. Those YAMIS look right at home!
