Default Raymarine ds600x

My unit is acting up. Keeps shutting down and turning back on. Thought power issue. Then I noticed when I disconnected transducer unit power was ok just went into demo mode only. Unit functions fine until I connect transducer.

No one wants to bite on this?

Pretty funny because I spoke with few professionals in the industry about this today and they never have heard of it but say that its probably the unit still.

Even though I have good connect on the plugs I decided to hit it with contact cleaner and then dielectric grease and she is holding up.

Funny enough thought because I had a call into my electronics dealer to see when could I get a Furuno FCV-585 out last minute to make sure I have it for bluefin fishing!

I've had two replaced because of water in them, I didn't really care about the foggy screen but they were cutting off. One of them eventually fried. Put the voltage indicator on the screen (display) and watch it. One of mine would vary from 10-to like 20 volts. That was the one that burnt up.

Yup, got all that whacked out voltage.

Sadly tonight it was the end of that DS600X as it met a timely end with the end of a crimper!

Order my Furuno tomorrow, I was really happy with the unit, let me tell you that, 2004 came with the boat in 2008. Last year or so just started acting up...

Those older Raymarine units were damn nice. Too bad Raymarine no longer offers stand-alone units. I had my DSX600X for 6 years. Sold it with the boat....

I'm looking for a 400 power cable and xducer. If I can get out of it for a hundred bucks I be styling.
I know....I know..... EBay, Craigslist..... I have been looking. Just babbling is all.

The DS400X and DS600X employ the same power/NMEA cable.

Right from Raymarine tech support.

i just bought a furuno 620, taking out my ray marine ds600x. good machine but the screen fogs up. Im going to sell it to a buddy real cheap, but curious if anybody here knows the charge to send it back to ray marine to fix the leak causing the screen to fog up?

thanks

Raymarine has a flat rate repair and trust me it's not worth the price of the repair.

I have a refurbished DS600X still in the box and two transom mount ducers if you guys are at all interested. I had a fogging problem with my prior unit which was still under warranty. I replaced it with a furuno (which also fogs unfortunately) then them sent me back the refurb last year. If interested hit me up at fenerty@verizon.net

That's not the way it has to work. If you want them to just look at it and give you a bid, they will. Then, if it is REALLY bad, the worst case is the $500.
