Default Lowrance HDS S.W.4.0

Hello to all you,
is there someone who can explain the differences, if any, between 4.0.36.56 and 4.0.36.59software versions? On my HDS 8 Combo Unit I experienced some fishfinder issues with the 4.0.36.56 version that I never had seen with the previous 3.5 version.
May be the 4.0.36.59 overcome these issues?
Thanks

Unless it changed in the last several weeks the latest version had a 'b' on the end:

4.0.36.59b

I don't have any experience with the other one, I jumped from the 3.5 to the 4.0.36.59b version. Some people have reported issues, especially with trolling motor mounted transducers. There is some good reading here, join up and go the Lowrance forums.

I did testing on my own, but could not validate a definite software issue for my set-up.

b version seems to make it more stable in deeper water.

All in all, the 4.0 update is faster, but I have problems with bottom lock sometimes. It is more sensitive to the "type of fishing" setting; General, shallow, etc.

I only ran 56 for a short while, but 59 does not completely resolve the sounder issues. You can manually fix by going in and changing settings. That was not a problem in the 3.x era.

Great review. Let's see what happens when Lowrance update the software as I read they are going to do soon.
