Default lgc 12w module needed

Good morning, I just bought a 2002 Wellcraft w/a and it has Lowrance legacy electronics on it. The chartplotter/gps is lms 240. I checked the voltage off the back of the head and I have 11.6 coming out. I isolated the extension cord by plugging the module into the back of the head directly. The unit still pulls the "cannot find gps module" alarm so I am thinking it is the module that is bad. Other than upgrading the electronics which would be a cost that I do not want to incur at this time because of the recent purchase of the boat. I would like to see if I can get away with just replacing the module that will allow me some time to save for something better. If anyone has an idea on how to maybe fix the one I have or get a replacement that won't cost me the going rate of $150 - 250 bucks that would be great. If I buy new I might as well throw a few more hundred and upgrade.

Thanks for you time

Chris

Buy a Humminbird AS GR 16 and connect to your unit using NMEA 183. You will find it for about $90.

Mine just went out after 8 years. Called Lowrance customer service, gave them the serial # on the bottom of the puck, and they sent me a new one for $99 + $12.50 shipping. No reason to pay full price when you can go through Lowrance.
