Smile Wiring my cp300 as an accessory will it work?

My boat has no dash space so I was really thinking about wiring a plug onto my cp300 and plugging it into my dash. The lighter socket to be exact. My Starcraft 2212 really lacks dash space to say it's a 22 foot cuddy.

Think it will get ok power?

That's what I do with my CP300i. Works fine for me. Also, I screwed the unit to a scrap piece of Timbertech decking, then stuck a bunch of velcro on the bottom, so the whole unit is portable. Now that I have a second boat, I can use the CP300i on either.

Also, I didn't solder the connection, but just use one of the screw/clip on 12v plugs. Makes it easier to plugin to a power supply at home in the winter to play with it. Very handy having the builtin antenna to make all this self contained.
