Default Garmin 3006C not picking up location.

Good morning,
I bought a new CC this past weekend. The gps/plotter took about 10 minutes to find our position on the first trip (which in my opinion was quite excessive). On our second trip out the gps/plotter did not pick up our position at all. Is there something obvious I am missing here? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, Matt.

Does your antenna have a clear view of the sky? Perhaps a loose connection somewhere? check the connections at the display and work back to the breaker.

And... are you turning it on in close proximity to the position you last turned it off? You may find it quicker to re-acquire if the boat is stationary also.

Clean tight connections at both ends of the antenna cable are important , and some GPS's may benefit quite a bit from software upgrades to the latest releases even if they were released a good while previously.

Do you possibly have a radar that was transmitting while the GPS antenna was attempting to acquire in it's beam?
Which chartplotter?
