Default Furuno FCV585 to Lowrance HDS8m - NMEA0183?

Does anybody know if these two units could be connected via NMEA0183 to enable creating a waypoint from the FCV585 to the Lowrance Chart Plotter?

You might want to look at the Actisense NGW-1 if you intend to use the NMEA 2000 bus system.

The units can of course be connected by NMEA 183. The question is if HDS supports the FCV-585 waypoint sentence. I've not tested this since my FCV-620 is connected to a E80 and not to the HDS I have in the same boat.

To test if this is working the TTL output setting in the FCV-585 NMEA menu should be set to TTL (not Furuno TTL). NMEA 183 receive waypoints should be ticked in the HDS Network menu .

You might also want to post on the Furuno Support Forum as this is a good issue that others might be interested in.
