Default Raymarine sport pilot plus circa 2000 repair

In advance, thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

Been lurking on the board and reading for some time.

Now, I have encountered an issue I need some help with. I've searched the internet and this site, but other than buying an old unit, no luck for spare parts sources.

I am buying a 2000 Proline Express, for an autopilot it has a plus installed. The unit powers up, but the control switch is pretty much rotten and trashed due to age and sun. because of this, I can't really tell if it is functioning properly.

I have read bits and pieces that the more modern sport pilot plus parts interchange with some of the older parts. What would be the most cost effective way to "modernize" my unit? Is there a rotary switch I can swap out the old "stick" switch with?

Thanks again
