Default SUPER - CHEAP security system

Well, not really, but a deterrent...knowing the way THT is these days, someone will have a dissenting view (LOL)

but really with this device, you never know - do I really have a security system or is this just a red blinking light?

It's just a slow BRIGHT red blinking light.......same kind sec systems use, very visible from the dock...but when you drill one hole in a panel somewhere, insert 2 AA batts in the power pack and stick it on with two sided tape, it may keep someone from getting on your boat. I have done it on my last two boats. All for $4.19!

yes- mine is in my upper electronics box - directly below the "Protected by ADP" sicker..batts sprayed inside module with CRC...

BTW, I have a 1500 Paradox system for real alarm, but the light flashes reminding people to not get on the boat....

Well you never know. I have a fairly elaborate system on my boat. It is mostly concealed, but there is one camera in particular that should be the first concern of any thief/vandal. If I install one of these things, if it doesn't deter the their, maybe he/she will get a false sense of security and not worry about the rest of the system. The double-reverse psychology aspect of this probably wouldn't fool a professional, but I bet it would be effective against the typical tweeker.

Glen,
Can you please post the make, model and marina location of each boat you have installed with this device, and which boats have "real" alarms in them?

Thanks!!!

I'm actually gonna market a $10 security system - this and a $3 hidden toggle switch on the hot wire of the ignition switch...(LOL)
