Default replace broken transducer or spring for new unit

Tht people,

What should I do...I currenty have an eagle fishelite 480 (5 in grayscale display) combo unit installed in my boat. The boat is a 2007 bayliner 19 ft cuddy cabin. Hardly a hard-core fishing boat! The transom-mount transducer snapped off. I did a temp repair on it and the sonar works pretty well but them temp sensor is way off and its only a matter of time before the repair let's go.

I'd love to get a huge expensive display but I only have room for maybe an 8in screen max, space is a premium on this boat. Also, I don't plan to keep the boat a whole lot longer (been wanting to upgrade for a long time.) If I still have the boat two years from now, i've done something wrong.

My question is, should I just replace the transducer this fall/winter or find a whole different unit? Is it worth the upgrade? If so what do you guys recommend.

That unit only uses 200 kHz. and if you upgrade you can get into color and also have a dual frequency sonar.

Several options.

You can keep that unit for its GPS and get a separate sonar only or of course get a new combo unit.

Lots of new user friendly units that will fit the bill for an 8" screen ...and with the newer technology now available you may be very pleased.
