Default icommand will work with my 2005 etec 250, right?

I have always been under the impression that my engine was nmea 2000, thus icommand, capable.

I have seen on a couple brochures where it states icommand is compatible with 2006 and newer motors though.

I know for certain the '06s are compatable. Why don't you call a BRP dealer?

My dealers around here are near useless.

Called Evinrude, apparently only 2006 and later....I suppose another reason I should not have been an early adopter.

I am now suspecting that the Evinrude tech I spoke to did not know what he was talking about (which is some kind of pathetic as this should be elementary).

I have a 2005 200 Etec and I am sure it is NMEA 2000. I think the tech was wrong.
