Default Sounder for Airmar b164 ducer

Looking for suggestions on a good sounder for under $1,000, preferrably closer to $500. I bought my boat sans electronics, but it does have an Airmar b164 1kw thru hull. I fish mainly inshore, but will be making some Stellwagen trips.

Originally I was thinking one networked unit with chartplotter/radar/sounder, but now I'm considering two screens - chartplotter/radar and stand alone sounder. Sounder will come first as I found it quite difficult to find mackerel last week without one!!

Thanks

So you know what sonar make or model it originally had?

Also..does the B164 you have have the "mix and match" cable and connectors?
You can tell by seeing if the cable coming from the transducer has just a short length and then has a connector with a 27' cable from there.

Can you read the part number off the cable..is so post it and I will let you know what system it was originally used with.
That might be helpful for you to know.

It was hooked up to a Simrad NSE 12. I haven't looked at the connectors, but will this evening.
