Default Lowrance LCX-26C HD

I just purchased a used LCX-26C HD. I need to pick up a GPS antenna now. The one that came with the unit is LGC-2000. Can I upgrade to the 3000/400?. What will the advantages be to upgrading? Does anyone have any tips or pointers for me? Thanks guys

I believe the LGS-2000 is discontinued and was replaced by the LGS-4000.

The LGS-4000 is not cheap and is an excellent receiver. To use it you will need the 127-05 cable if your unit used the LGS-2000.

If you can find a LGS-2000 it will work just fine...a lot cheaper.

I have the same unit, purchased with my boat. I saw the software/firmware was of an older generation so I performed the upgrade as posted by Lowrance..
Long story short. upgrade took, but GPS module was not found. Something with the firmware didnt like the older GPS puck & no going back. I made 2or3 calls to Lowrance for assistance, they sent me different firmware versions. But to no avail. They offered a upgrade/exchange for fairly cheap.

I've been up and working great ever since with the 4000

The main advantage in upgrading will be to get a far more reliable GPS receiver. Heaps of the 2000's crapped themselve (mine being one of them) - do a search if you want to find some evidence. Go the 4000.
