Default Cellular Antenna?

Are the shakesphere cellular antennas worth the money. What kind of range do they get you. I loose signal after about 25 miles off and was wondering if I would make forty offshore?

Digital makes a nice antenna, have an 8foot one on my boat. You might want an amplifier, too--cyfre makes good 3 watt units. that's what I've got and it works fine. Don't know if it will get you 40 miles, though. that's a long way.

Line of site - so the higher the better. However with hight being the same you will get better service with the 2,4,8,18' antennas that Shakespeare makes in their galaxy line.

Also note not all phones have marine antenna adapter connectors available for them so check that 1st.

Wilson is one major supplier: http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/upl...n_Adapters.pdf

For example , I don't see one for the popular water-resistant Verizon/Android cell phone, Casio's GzOne Commando.

I used to have a digital antenna and a 3watt booster in my car. I forget the make, but the setup was absolutely amazing. I never once dropped a call. Even in the worst dead zones, didnt drop a single call.
