Default Lowrance StructureScan questions

I see the neat images that can be seen when moving over tree, rocks, even a boat wreck. The picture of that bridge is impressive if almost unbelievable.

But what happens when you're anchored over say a hole or some rocks. Is the beam also fwd and aft and you still see the hole/rocks or is it now just like a fishfinder constantly showing just the small slice right below?

similar to a fishfinder. when i am anchored on a wreck i can see it but it appears like a bunch of lines where its picking up the different depths over the wreck. u can def tell when u are on it and off it but it isnt as detailed as when u are driving over an obstruction

Movement makes it work. You still see stuff, but not like when you are moving; hence they have the speed rating on them at like 2-12 knts.
