Default Can a VX1 and 2 be combined in the same system

I was told by a person selling a VX2 screen that it can be combined with a VX1 screen, radar, gps ant. and sounder box I now have. In know that the 3D does not work with the1 or 2. Does the 1 and 2 equiptment work together? I doubt it my self. They are both C map if that helps?

You cannot put a VX1 and VX2 display in the same network, but radars, sounders etc. are compatable between VX1 and VX2...

Actually you can combine them in the same network, but each must use its own chart. That data will not travel along the network, but radar, sounder, and GPS will.
Contcat a local dealer or give Furuno a call and I'm sure their techs can explain how to do it.

I*f so then a lot of people upgraded more then they had to. I have no problem with the radar sounder and GPS info traveling but not the C map.

My boat came with a VX1 display, GPS, radar, fishfinder. I added a VX2. The only data they couldn't share was the chart.
I believe there is some additional functionality that the VX1 units don't have (XM weather, for example) that you won't get from a VX2, but if you're adding a VX2 to a VX1 system you can share everything but the chart.
