Default Water temp reading incorrect Raymarine

I have a new Raymarine C140W with DSM 300

All works well except for the water temp reading.

I get a consistent reading roughly 20 degrees below the true .

I got a reading correctly of 88 deg yesterday after boating for an hour but it switched back to the incorrect reading a few minutes later and has stayed there again.

If i calibrate adjust i can only adjust by 10 degrees.

Any ideas please?

thanks

What kind of transducer do you have?

FWIW, this is a common problem, but it very well may be the Airmar transducer. Mine crapped out on my transom mount P66.

In installed 3 seperate temp/speedo units on my buddies boats, with Raymarine system, and they all crapped out in less than a year. The readings were very sporatic, then they went to 120 degrees.
